PA Crashes when a client tries to access it for a second time

Reported by: craig.cabrey Owned by: lennart
Milestone: 0.9.16 Component: module-combine-*
Keywords: module-combine imic simultaneous output eee Cc:

Description

I use mpd & PA along with the Simultaneous output option (which is fantastic). The first 'session' works fine and mpd stops playing and I'll go off and do something. When I come back and try to start mpd again, PA crashes. I am using an Eee with Ubuntu 9.04 (which has PA 0.9.14), and two sound cards. One is the builtin of course & lspci gives this: 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02)

The second soundcard is an iMic, which works out of the box, but I can't find anything in lspci, lshw, or dmesg. Please tell me if I need to upload logs or anything else, I am new to submitting bugs for PA.

Verbose output when PA crashes after unplugging/replugging the imic back in

Wasn't sure how much to attach, so I just put everything that showed up in my terminal. The interesting bit is at the bottom. And yes, I know I wasn't clear, but I have steps to reproduce the problem.

1. Play something (anything) w/ Simultaneous Ouput as enabled & defaulted. 2. Stop playback. 3. Unplug iMic (or other external usb sound card) 4. Try to play again, PA crashes.

Hmm, could you get me a backtrace about this?

explains how to get one.

Sorry about not getting back to you, I forgot to respond. No matter what I did, I couldn't get PA to crash again (figures). It might be that I forgot exactly how to reproduce it or it just... fixed itself? Do you have enough info to validate if this is a bug or not?
